FAQ

I have bought the Premium account. Can I share it accross mutiple device?

Pay once, use it everywhere. All your devices share the same purchase: count on your iPhone in the aisle, review your figures on your iPad, at no extra cost.
One condition: your devices must use the same Apple Account. That account is what carries your purchase: a device signed in to a different Apple Account will not be able to restore it.
Go to the 'Admin' tab, tap on the 'Full version' button, select your In App Purchase, and tap the 'Restore' button.

Multiuser / Multidevice: Can I share my database on multiple devices or with other users?

Sure, you can synchronize your database with a Dropbox account, and share that account with other users.
Go to the 'IO' tab, and then tap on Sync row.
Important: every device must be logged in to the same Dropbox account. That shared account is what hosts the shared database: two devices signed in to two different accounts will never see the same inventory.
You can create a new Dropbox account if you don't want to use your personnal Dropbox account.
For the full details on working as a team, see the Multiuser inventory page.

Multisite: What should I do if I have 2 different storage locations?

Within a single inventory, one barcode can only match one product sheet: there is therefore only one quantity per product and per inventory.
To track the quantities of two storage locations separately, use one inventory per location: clone your existing inventory or create a new one, then switch the active inventory depending on the storage location you are working on.
To clone or create an inventory, go to the 'Admin' tab and tap on the 'Inventories' button.
Good news: you only enter each product once. If the barcode you scan already exists in another inventory, the new product sheet automatically picks up all of its information — name, category, brand, supplier, prices, and so on. Only the quantity is left out, because quantity belongs to each inventory. You get the best of both worlds: the same product catalogue from one storage location to the next, and stock counted separately for each.

How can I import my own inventory?

No need to re-enter your stock by hand. If you already manage your inventory in a spreadsheet or in another software, export it to CSV and import it straight into the app: whether you have a few hundred or several thousand items, everything is in place within minutes, with no copying mistakes.
Go to the 'IO' tab, tap the Import button, and let the app guide you.
A sample file and the full list of expected columns are waiting for you on the Inventory import via CSV file page.

Can I connect a Bluetooth scanner to the Barcode Inventory application?

Yes, and it is the answer to high volumes. When you have hundreds of items to get through, a dedicated scanner is faster than the camera and saves you from holding your phone at arm's length all day. The NT-1228BC scanner from the brand Netum pairs with Barcode Inventory over Bluetooth in seconds: you scan, and the product sheet opens straight away.

How can I create a new inventory?

As many inventories as you have needs. Shop floor and stockroom, yearly count and rolling count, equipment on loan: manage several inventories in a single database and switch between them in one tap, without ever mixing up your figures.
Go to the 'Admin' tab, and tap on the 'Inventories' button.

How can I clone an inventory?

Start from your catalogue, not from scratch. Cloning an inventory copies its whole structure and every product sheet: perfect for opening a second storage location or launching a new counting campaign without re-entering anything.
Go to the 'Admin' tab, tap on the 'Inventories' button, then select the inventory you want to clone.
